Our History

• JCSZip database (September 1998)

The JCSZip database was much smaller, and more limited in its first iteration. The first Subscription was purchased in October of 1998, and we were on our way!

• GreatData Canadian Database (October 1999)

Just as the Webmasters prompted us to support US Zip Codes, they also requested that we offer Canadian Postal Code information. We formed a relationship with GreatData.com 4^th quarter 1999, and began displaying their Canadian Database. We did not sell or support the database, however, as Greatdata retained those rights. JCS was a "bird dog", sent them customers, and received "finder’s fees" for the relationship.

• JCSPhone database (December 1999)

Again, Customer demand prompted us to form an added relationship with Melissa Data to remarket their Fone*Data database. Because the agreement allows us to "enhance" their version, and to market it under our own name, the relationship has been very mutually productive. At this time also, JCS with other individuals, formed the company, JK Data Services, which uses JCS’ databases, and does 800 number route planning for a number of large companies.

• JCSExcel (December 2000)

JCS was considered to be THE source for proximity based databases in 1999 and 2000 for Webmasters. Our web site was our sole promotion efforts and we did well. Our web site became more and more popular with both Webmasters and just folks who needed to run queries against the databases. Unfortunately, non-programmers really had nothing to buy from JCS, and we had a good number of individuals interested to some pre-programmed access to the data.

In September, 2000, I received a call from a user who explained that he had been on the site all morning, had printed an inch tall stack of paper, and would be spending the next 2-3 days keying the data captured into Excel. He asked why I did not have a version of the systems that ran in Excel so that he could avoid the effort to transform the data displayed into a machine readable form.

JCSExcel resulted, was offered for the first time on December 26, 2000. In 2001, JCS sales doubled! (Any company that does not listen to their customers are really missing the very best advice they possible can have).

• On and off-line enhancements over time

Over time, JCS has continued to expand their offerings, both on and off-line. The same helpful suggestions continue to be offered by our most important asset, our customer base. As always, we do our best to service their needs.

• JCSCan Database (December 2005)

In November 2005, we learned that Melissa Data who supplies the basis for JCSPhone now also supplies a Canadian Database. We negotiated an acceptable way that JCS could begin to offer our own Canadian Database to our Webmaster customers, and maybe most importantly, can now offer a "blended" version of our data. The newest database will be known as JCSAll.

• JCSAll Database (December 2005)

Cross-border queries and zip/postal queries blended with area code and exchange information could always be done with significant blending and effort with the various JCS products. Now, however, the extra effort is going to be "pre-done" for the JCS Webmasters and programmers and JCSAll results.
